The Impossible Dream

Most of us have a dream. We spend most of our lives searching for that dream. For me I spent most of my life trying to find out what I wanted to do. It wasn't an easy path and there were many pitfalls and hardships along the way. Searching for your dream is like searching for the Biblical Pearl of Great Price. When you finally find it then the question is, "now what do I do next?"

A dream is a social animal. I realize most dreams don't growl and don't bark or chirp or roar. They just hold us with passion we can't always explain. And in addition they hold fascination for the people who come into our lives. After all its not often that you meet a dreamer. A dreamer is a rare animal. One that belongs in the biggest zoos of London or maybe Bismark. So when you meet one of these rare creatures how do you react? For some of you its "Yawn, I saw that special on TV. For the next hero its "I wish I had found that..." to "Hmmm, I wonder what its worth to me..."

So it is with Earth House. I didn't know it was my life's quest when I started this website in 1998. I had not gone out searching the Internet back then looking for my own pearl. I figured someone else had built it and that was that. But over the years I realized something a little strange. That I had to grow my own dream and in growing that dream I had to work hard at it. I had to put my life on hold while I spent the toughest years of my life physically, mentally and spiritually. Out of it came this seed of an idea and from that seed began to grow a small tree. Its still small and after nearly 8 years I wait eagerly for more fruit. You see its one thing to produce fruit that you can eat but strangers coming by produced it for me. I don't like to call you strangers its just that I don't know your name. I went from a pretty small crowd in the beginning and nowadays I reach for well over 25,000 a month. But is the numbers and the changes enough? Is the influence on a culture enough? After all Mother Earth News reaches probably 100 times as many. They have a magazine and a vision that I understand and I have some of their early copies that goes back to 1981. I treasure them overall and I see that many of their ideas still stand the test of time.

But to forward a thought we must hold our breath and pause and think and then ask ourselves a wee little question. What is the purpose for this dream and do I have a part to play. That is the goal of this site I think. To find out if you have a part to play. A part of choice actually because as in all choices you have to make that decision. And a choice isn't one I wish one to make out of a spirit of quickness but one that you chew and cogitate on for some time. I guess I recognize that history has trounced and totaled so many dreams before that we recognize failures when we see them. We look and think "Well, this lacks this and this and this and this and well...it can't be a success." But when we put ourselves at the top of the motive pole we lack one thing that would let us have a vision. Hope. Hope is like a friend who comes to you and says, "Listen, I know you have a dream. I know others have schemed and muddied the ground searching for that ole pearl for thousands of years. But you have to let go of your fear and take a step of faith..." And so I do and maybe you could also.

Anyway here I am again offering a solution called Earth House but without the deep wisdom I need to make it come to pass. That means there are those of you reading this who know how to make dreams come true. You have built companies, factories, houses, businesses and more from the ground up. Those are the kind of people I need to show me what I need to move forward. I don't have any money, I have difficulty speaking and have other things wrong with this body, but my mind is still good and I still have a dream. And that dream needs an outlet. A big outlet. A huge outlet. And frankly there isn't enough money in my bank account to make it happen. It would take the bank account of a billionaire or two to even begin the vision I've got. I do feel and believe its God ordained and frankly I won't compromise that part of it. Someone out there needs to start getting motivated. There are a number of us being prepared and though it sounds strange maybe, just maybe you know what I mean. I don't like going public. I tend to shy away from publicity and things related to the media. And I did work in the media in a small way. What I'm looking for is not publicity. What I'm looking for is someone with understanding to begin a dialogue. I don't want just an invention or two though I desire inventors to send me their ideas. What I need is not an angel to invest hoping to recuperate....in any short term or long term. I need someone to invest in an eternal investment that probably won't get you much praise from men, at least for awhile. All I can say is this is a dream that needs people to work with me and under my authority. The authority I speak of may sound strange but I speak of letting this vision go forward. And that is going to take time and money and I don't have much else to do at the moment except take it one day at a time. Anyway I will get off the platform and call it a day. Hope you all understand.
