There are many purposes for libraries but one of the main ones is to provide and be a source of information to the public. Over the centuries there have been many cases of book burnings. Sometimes there is a religious reason and other times a political reason. Some people are anti-knowledge and others selective in what they believe. Personally I believe we need to remember our past so we do not repeat the same mistakes.

When I look at what is happening in the Western World today I see a slow book burning in progress. Oh they call themselves liberals, open minded, the sane folk who know what is best for the world. But these folks are now scouring the globe but especially North America and especially America with one intent. To burn the books of the past. To make sure that people forget the world that was and only remember the world that is. This book burning is happening at a faster rate then ever before and our philosophy, our teachings, our laws, our celebrations, the life I grew up with, the teachings I knew are being stripped away. They are telling me what I can and cannot believe, what I can and cannot think. These people are stealing what is precious and pure. But the lies they spread are now being accepted by the majority outside America and soon America itself will lose its heritage as the book burning continues.

It is happening in every court house, in every public park. It is recorded on the internet and on the television and in the print of our day. It is talked about with glee by the book burners even while they tell us why it is necessary and why we must submit to its lies. We have choosen to believe this lie about destroying our past and in fact we often find ourselves worried about the books we own. We hide them away or throw them away as if someone were watching over our shoulder. And in fact they are. Those books we held precious are now the garbage which is burned daily. Those who protest are ignored, laughed at or thrown in prison. They have burned the truth so the truth cannot be seen any more in the public marketplace. And where the truth is heard they have written new books and new laws and new statutes to throw those who still believe in prison. No more can we live by the old standards but we must now exist by the filth they promote in our schools and in many churches.

If we protest and write new books then they create even more stringent laws to burn the truth and then they present us with the lies we must now believe.

But there are those who know the truth and are not swayed by the rampant book burning of our time. They are the choosen ones. Those who are called to record, restore and protect the sacred truths of scripture and of the Bible. They are not afraid to protect what is pure and just. Our history, our celebrations, our ancient texts speaking the truth of why America was founded on the truth of Jesus Christ is still being kept safe from the book burners. They will not find what God protects. They will not be able to steal away what God ordains.

And that one of the main purposes of this library. To protect, record and make available by republishing old texts, books and truths of the government and of the people. To have historians rewrite our textbooks to bring back the truths the book burners have stolen and lied to us about. To make sure that our children will know that some of us refused to give in to those public hooligans and liars who take after their father. With Gods help we will protect this truth from the book burning crowd so people will know the truths they have spent decades trying to erase. No more will we submit to the public desecration of our heritage.
