People like to be judged on what they can do and not their spiritual condition. But in choosing men and women for a task it is those who have been through the fire and been transformed by Christ who are the greatest of workers. Not because they work for cheap or for free but because they have a purpose driven life. That all they do and what they do is purpose driven is a declaration of who and what they are.

So how does one chose an employee in an age where character takes second or third place to production? By rethinking and remapping the way one hires. This is not an easy task. Having had to hire folks for secular jobs I can tell you some grow angry if you ask them about their spiritual walk with God. Just as there is a proverbial separation between church and state so people’s works are often forced to be separate from their walk.

Sanctuary chooses to be different and must be different in order for it to succeed. Sanctuary is about incorporating the walk with the work. And this is a tricky and a sticking point for many. The best way to describe it is every aspect of the work we do at Sanctuary must revolve around God and relationship with Him while functioning on a worldly level.

Though prayer will be the key to our success it is only a key and unless one knows how to utilize it there is little power or change that can come if doors remain closed. Thus each person that will be hired will be required to go through a time of training and adaptation to basic spiritual principles. This training will be part of the initial preparation before Sanctuary is then ready to function or face the world.

Staff who participate and are trained in this one month course will, having finished it, then be eligible to begin to partake of the secular benefits which Sanctuary plans to incorporate. At all times each person will be given opportunities to be trained or not. Frankly some will not be able to handle the pressure and many will not want to have their worlds shaken up by being faced with a real God to whom they must submit their lives. At such a time they will be given an opportunity to reapply in one years time.

So why should staff be trained? The best way to describe it is ask “Why did Christ wish to have disciples?” So that he could teach them the truth about his father, God. Sanctuary is not just about being a light on the hill but about teaching each member how to be that light. Frankly I am convinced God has taught me how to do this and the last thing I want to spend my life’s work among people who don’t have the same goals, visions or dreams.

It was Joshua who said, “Choose you this day who you will serve but as for me and my house we shall serve the Lord.” Sanctuary Earth House is about choices and about serving God. Every aspect of SEH is going to be prayer centered. I believe if we will focus on prayer then everything else will fall into place including the work that we do.
