How Sanctuary works

October 26, 2006

Joel Akin

You wrote words down when you were a child. “How do you do Billy. How is Sally today?” Now maybe those simple words ring a bell and maybe they don’t. But each of us starts off with such simple words that they have meaning to us. If we start off with complexities so deep there are few that would want to read these pages. Why? Because the words would mean little to you. You would read them and they would be hard and long and difficult to comprehend.

So I write with simple thoughts and I carry simple understanding and I carry simple truths. And from such simple truths I find myself wanting to share with you difficult things. And when there are difficult things to share that means I have to understand fully myself. To do that means I have to have the entire vision written down. Well, its not quite as easy as that. In any beginning there is a word. And sometimes the word has to be easy to understand. Maybe by the time we get to the finish of the book where it says “The End” we will understand. But right now I still feel as if I’m in the first few pages and you are the ‘children’ who read these things with me.

Now Children can be good if you are willing to be taught. We can be trained as children but sometimes when we get old we get set like fast setting concrete and the cement paste is like glue and the hold on us is our beliefs. And if those beliefs are that set in their ways then I think you should see a specialist who deals with hard heads.

Just joking. Don’t take it too personal. The fact is I am hard headed in my way. I can chose a stand and I’m one of those who doesn’t like to move far from it. Call me ‘tied to the post’ and so I go in circles sometimes or climb the tree or scratch at the postings like this.

And in those mere scratches sometimes you can make out what I’m trying to say. That I want to engrave a point of hope. A hope line is what keeps me faithful to the things of God. Those faithful things are times of prayer as I search for Gods will when it comes to Earth House and Sanctuary.

This month Property Mart overseas did a nice article on Bizarre Properties. I liked it and I wasn’t hurt that the word Bizarre Properties was used. Bizarre is like Bazar and that is the kind of place where you’ll find creations from all the world.

And maybe Bazar is where you come in. I know that I get people from a hundred countries reading this. Everyone has ideas and concepts and dreams. Yet I don’t hear from you? I think the answer is I want to. I want to know what you think makes up the neatest or oddest or coolest feature in a home and why. Send me mail and I’ll bring up your ideas in a future post. Tell me what makes up a Sanctuary. Tell me what your ideas are. What do you wish to see?
