When Oil Leaks
March 13, 2006
Joel Akin
Truth will win out in the end. And if we sift the leaves around our home searching for lost truth perhaps we are in the wrong season. Truth is like a vine that climbs upon the trellis but when frost comes it ceases its exploration and begins to fade and fall into the earth. Truth is what we seek and we wonder things like "Why is it that we get the same gas mileage today as we did sixty years ago?" Why do companies like Toyota Japan offer a car called Eco Celebrity that gets 104 miles per gallon for the diesel hybrid electric and yet remove it from the market? Are we living in times when someone out there can instill fear even in the automakers over the dreamed of car? Who in this world controls the flow of oil?
Its as if the flow of oil is controlled by two worlds systems. One is those who have chosen a path of darkness. They live in the shadows and step into the light when before the cameras. But when they bring it up out of the depths, the oil, then there seems to be little that holds them back from sponsoring that which should never see the light of day.
If we live on a world called Terra then perhaps it should not appear strange that we struggle today with Terrorism. It is a theory of mine that at one time the earth was covered with salt and few seas. Sal or Sol as it was called was a blessing of the sun. Then there came a great terror from the skies called pollution and dumped upon the earth trillions of gallons of used oil from passing spaceships. We cursed it at first, as we did coal and methane and thermal hot springs and anything else that caused us problems. But one day someone took that cursed oil and turned the garbage of it into something useful.
Now it sounds like Science Fiction and perhaps it is. But we know that our 'finds' of large reserves of oil seems to be declining. Barring another passage of some great spaceship we will have to find new and probably better means of renewing the oil. So what do we do? Do we wait until the oil runs out and then turn to such things as Oil Sands? Do we find a way to return to steam powered or perhaps pig powered turnings of the wheel?
My thought is perhaps further thinking then most but I believe we should stick with oil until we learn how to utilize cold fusion. But lets say that oil becomes the new money of the future. If we can throw away the stock market perhaps it just might work. It would require a new way of thinking and organizing of our lives. We'd have to make oil a commodity but also a measure of our design. We would have to measure out the worth of oil based on its two natures. That which is edible and that which is not. After all why shouldn't our new wealth be consummable? If I want to set a precedent all I need to do is search out scripture. The Bible speaks of a number of times when Olive Oil was used as a means of providing currency such as with Elijah and the widow woman.
The reason I believe oil is part of the key to the future is because we live in an age when there are many types of oil we could use. If we can find a way of modifying engines to run on oil or making oil to be part of the fuel system, then we have a way of prolonging the use of vehicles indefinitely. This belief and fear that we are running out of oil is one that has to be created by men and pandered to by society. If we wish we can take oil from 100 different products and create a standard. Not only do we have an indefinite supply but we have jobs for people from every country on earth. Many of whom do not have a petroleum oil source of their own.
Take for example Islanders where gasoline is in constant shortages. Most islands are capable of growing Palm Trees for Palm Oil and Coconuts for Coconut oil. Even islands that have a short growing season are capable of building Pit Greenhouses where they can grow their own Hemp for Hemp Oil.
Natural Oils are a monster commodity waiting to happen. Relying on the old oil from the ground which has a finite supply is like creating a food supply we know we will run out of but we sit back and do nothing about it. We have to change our views on natural oil and start figuring out the strengths and weaknesses of each for creating fuel for our vehicles and homes. Its not an impossible idea it just requires us to be like George Washington Carver who asked God for wisdom with peanuts. It is not so strange that oil is one of the basic by products of the peanut and one that has major potential as a fuel source. Should it be strange to note that Rudolp Diesel, creator of the Diesel engine, used Peanut oil to power his motor?
So lets quit worrying about running out of dirty oil and start putting together a plan to use the natural resources God gave us. Its there, its useable and it is renewable year after year for all generations. Perhaps we won't worry quite as much about mileage if we know that the fuel for our vehicle comes out of the ground peanut style.
